ISIEINDIA Conducted Successful 5-Day Training Campus Immersion Program for EV Powertrain and EV Design in CSP Thavanoor, Kerala

The Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) recently organized a comprehensive 5-Day Training Campus Immersion Program for EV Powertrain and EV Design at the ISIE-ASAP Kerala Centre of Excellence in CSP Thavanoor, Kerala. This program, held from October 17th to October 21st, 2023, marked a significant milestone in promoting electric vehicle (EV) knowledge and skill development. The program featured a range of hands-on sessions and lectures conducted by four experienced ISIEINDIA trainers.

Day 1

The first day of the program kicked off with an introduction to EV technology, providing students with insights into different types of electric vehicles, their components, and working principles. This theoretical foundation was followed by practical hands-on sessions in the EV lab, allowing participants to get a first hand experience of EV components.

Day 2

Day 2 featured a series of workshops and sessions focused on preparing students for interviews and future career opportunities in the EV industry. These included mastering self-introduction, setting career goals, SWOT analysis, resume building, cover letter writing, email etiquette, understanding interview methodologies, answering behavioral and situational questions, corporate etiquettes, and participating in group discussions and mock interviews. In parallel, there was a session that delved into Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCHEV) technology, covering various aspects such as fuel cell systems, hydrogen systems, high voltage systems, and service plug grips for FC and battery.

Day 3

The third day of the program was dedicated to understanding battery technology, including an overview of battery types, chemistry, battery management systems (BMS), battery design calculations, safety measures, and MATLAB simulation for Lithium-ion State of Charge (SOC) estimation. Additionally, participants delved into BMS in Li-ion batteries, BMS failures in the field, BMS testing on a BMS tester, thermal management, and heat distribution. The day also included discussions on electric vehicle motors, their principles, types, construction views of motor parts, Halbach principle, controller working principles, and control systems, including Brushless DC (BLDC) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) control systems.

Day 4

The fourth day focused on the structural design of EV body frames. Participants learned about the installation and familiarization of software, followed by designing and simulating a center pillar for an electric vehicle.

Day 5

The final day began with a motivational class that highlighted the life of the accomplished Indira Nooyi, providing valuable insights and inspiration for the students. Additionally, the day featured a session on Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) technology, specifically covering the Power Split working mechanism. The program concluded with a Q&A session, giving participants the opportunity to clarify any doubts or seek further information on the topics covered.

ISIEINDIA continues to lead the way in promoting innovative learning experiences and providing a platform for students to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies. As the electric vehicle industry continues to grow and evolve, programs like these play a crucial role in shaping the future of mobility in India.

With the successful completion of this program, ISIEINDIA further cements its commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in the field of electric vehicles, nurturing a new generation of skilled professionals who will drive the transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
