The Path That Led Me to Bosch
Akhtar Ahsan
Senior Engineer @ Bosch Power Solutions

From textbooks to powertrains: The journey of transformation.
When I started my engineering journey, I wasn’t just looking for a placement. I was looking for direction.
I liked engines and powertrains, but the industry was clearly moving into something new—electrification, batteries, hybrid systems.
I knew I had to move with it, but I didn’t know where to begin.
“That clarity came when I joined ISIEINDIA. It became real for the first time.”
Learning That Finally Made Sense
Before the training, most of what I knew came from textbooks and class notes. Electric mobility felt exciting, but far away.
However, once I started the hands-on sessions, everything clicked. I worked directly with:
-
EV powertrain systems -
Battery modules & BMS logic -
Motor controllers -
Fault diagnostics
I still remember the day we traced a fault in a controller setup. It was a small moment, but it changed everything for me.
I felt like I was finally doing engineering, not just studying it.
What helped most was the approach—opening components, testing them, breaking things down, understanding why systems behave the way they do.
Those sessions made my thinking sharper and my goals clearer.
Applying lessons learned to real-world engineering challenges.
Stepping into Bosch
Today, I work as a Senior Engineer at Bosch Power Solutions. My role involves ensuring quality across powertrain and exhaust systems—root cause analysis, validation, customer feedback, and supplier coordination.
“At Bosch, the shift toward EV and hydrogen systems isn’t a future idea—it’s happening now. The confidence I built earlier has helped me contribute without hesitation.”
Growth Beyond the Classroom
What ISIEINDIA gave me wasn’t just technical skill. It helped me choose a direction and trust it.
It made me curious, disciplined, and more confident in my decisions.
Outside work, I try to stay balanced—building small tools for internal projects, volunteering, following Formula 1, and going on treks.
These things keep me grounded and remind me that engineers grow when people grow.
Message to
Young Engineers
“Don’t wait for change to reach you. Prepare for it before it arrives.
Electric and hydrogen mobility will need engineers who understand systems, not just definitions.
Structured training gave me that start at the right time.”
