22 Students, 1 Destination – Ather Energy
ISIEINDIA x OSDA Powering the Future of Electric Vehicle Talent in India
In a remarkable achievement that reinforces the impact of industry-aligned skilling initiatives in India, 22 students from the Electric Vehicle (EV) Assembly Technician Training Program at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for E-Mobility, jointly established by ISIEINDIA and the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), have successfully secured placements with Ather Energy—one of India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers.
This success not only highlights the relevance and strength of the training program but also showcases how skill development partnerships can transform lives and contribute to India’s clean mobility mission.

A Vision Realized: Industry-Aligned EV Training
The Centre of Excellence in Kamakhyanagar was launched with a vision to equip Odisha’s youth with the right skillsets needed for the fast-growing electric mobility industry. Powered by ISIEINDIA under its “Charging Careers” initiative and supported by OSDA through the NUA Odisha mission, the CoE delivers hands-on, practical training specifically designed to meet the real-world requirements of EV manufacturers.
Over the course of 2 to 3 months, students are immersed in an intensive, experiential learning environment. The curriculum is built in collaboration with industry experts and emphasizes:
- Real-time assembly line practices
- EV systems diagnostics and testing
- Safety and maintenance protocols
- Soft skills and workplace readiness
The program recorded a 100% course completion rate, a testament to both the dedication of the students and the effectiveness of the training methodology.
From Classroom to Career: Placement at Ather Energy
Following the successful completion of their training, 22 students were shortlisted and offered positions at Ather Energy, a pioneering company known for its innovation in electric scooters and commitment to sustainability. Their roles will span various technician and assembly responsibilities, directly contributing to Ather’s mission of revolutionizing urban transportation in India.
This placement represents not just employment but the beginning of a future-focused career in the electric mobility sector.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment,” said an ISIEINDIA spokesperson. “We are deeply grateful to the Government of Odisha and OSDA for supporting our shared vision of creating a skilled and job-ready EV workforce.”
A Milestone for Sustainable Mobility in India
As India accelerates its transition to sustainable transportation, the need for skilled talent in the EV sector is greater than ever. ISIEINDIA and OSDA’s joint efforts through the Centre of Excellence ensure that youth from all corners of Odisha are not left behind in this transformation.
By placing 22 trained technicians at Ather Energy, the initiative demonstrates its success in creating a replicable model for EV workforce development—one that can be scaled across other states and sectors.
Join the EV Revolution
The success of these students is just the beginning. With the right training, mentorship, and industry collaboration, many more young individuals can find rewarding careers in electric mobility.
